Happy Holidays to YOU and YOURS from US!
Well, just a note to say, Happy Holidays to YOU!! We are doing better, things have settled a bit so it's been a lot better holiday season than last year for sure!! December here in Colorado Springs, CO. has been cold and wet mostly but the last 2 days have been good enough to actually ride the bicycle after a very slow thaw from the subzero temps of all of last week!
Jo and I went to her companies Holiday Party on Dec. 12th. we took our Son Steven and our newest grandaughter "Isabella", she really liked "dancing" to the Christmas music, with or without us, LOL! We will be going over to my Mom's for Christmas Eve, exchanging presents, eating and having a good time! :) Christmas Day is kinda a peaceful affair for Jo and I as it's just us. All the Grandkids will be out of state so we will have a "roast", (ie: in Honor of the Who's down in Who'sville's Roast Beast!), Mom's rasin spice cake, shaped like a Chistmas Tree will be desert, we will sing carols and run the tree light's all day! I hope you have a joyus Christmas Day and a very HAPPY New Year's!
As stated above, Happy Holidays to YOU and YOURS from US!!

Something good for once! :)

Wow, we actually WON something!! We were attending a bicycle maint. class at the Colorado Springs Bicycle Shop our LBS and we learned how to keep a bike running when out on the rode, tire, chain, maint. ect. At the end of the night we found out we wone the door prize, a new pair of bicycle socks each!! May not seem like much but I truely NEEDED a "taller" pair of riding socks for the fall/winter so it was perfect! The class put on by Kelly (Gen. Mgr.) and Jere (Mech.) was really good for Jo as she actually changed out a tube by herself, usually we ride together so I do the "dirty work", LOL. Pizza afterwards so all in all a very enjoyable evening!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Were Still Here, Praise the Lord!!
Well things have kinda settled down since May, although we've only gotten $100 out of almost $400 dollars from those invaildated Money Orders and it seems the DA office is trying it's best to "STALL" us, SIGH!! :( Still we got out of the jam by the skin of our teeth as they say! :) We've enjoyed the summer months, mainly riding our bicycles on the trail/path system throughout Colorado Springs. Hopefully going to "venture" out and ride to some of the out of area towns in different directions and maybe do some of the "shorter" rides that go along with Bicycle Century Runs throughout the State in 2010. The bikes are now "Hybrids", instead of Mountain Bicycles, ie: they are more set up for "road work", kinda a dual-purpose set up that's been fun to get to create.
Things are still, REALLY tight, I can't seem to get anyone to hire me part-time, cause I want "Sundays off", damn, it's just ONE DAY, the only day I KNOW that Jo will have off as car dealerships are all "closed" on Sundays here! We also won't have a CAR after thanksgiving, RATS, our friend Eric, who's loaned it to us for a couple of years needs it back. Eric, thanks it's been very appreciated!! Untill I find a PT job, we can't really afford a car and "full coverage" insurance so we will have to use the City Bus (YUCK) or taxi's, which is a PIA and expensive too boot. I did have a "hitch" made that mounts to my bicycle so I can pull my "homemade cargo/utility trailer", at least we can pick up FOOD or larger items if the weather is decent at all! :)
Well to all a "Happy Thanksgiving Day"!
Take care, Ride Safe, have FUN!!

LIFE SUCKS!!!!!
I'm beginning to seriously beleive that GOD and the Universal Karma really dislikes us!!!!!! I mean after all the crap we've been thru since Nov. 2008, it just won't leave us alone. We just got yelled at by our Landlord, seems "one" of the two Money Orders we used to pay May's rent, "BOUNCED", ARRRRRRRRRRRUGH, how can a Money Order bounce, so now that we've got him calmed down enough not to "evict us" in 3 days, we still have to go and FIGHT with 7-11 headquarters here in C. Springs to find out WHY this MO that we paid CASH for didn't work!!!!!!! It's enough to make you get in your car and just find a nice 1000ft. mountain side to run off!! :(
We TRY so damn hard to do it right, pay on time, are bills, but we keep getting screwed by totally unexpected circumstances wayyyyyyyy beyond our control, geez you'd think with just the law of averages we'd not get constantly messed over!!!!!!
It's just HELL to be working POOR in the USA.
Forgive me folks, but I had to VENT!!! Thanks!
